Breastfeeding is a full-time job. As breastfeeding is a natural bodily function, many parents-to-be expect it to come naturally to them - however, this isn’t always the case. Scientifically speaking, we know breastfeeding your baby is a beautiful way to bond with them and provides them with the best nutrition available; but we also know it’s a great deal of work, time, and effort and isn’t the best choice for everyone. At Buffalo Doula Services, we wish to support you in any way possible to meet your own goals and make choices that are best for your family.

BDS works exclusively with Marissa Bierl, IBCLC to provide those struggling with feeding their baby with the best lactation support available in Buffalo. International Board Certified Lactation Consultants carry the “gold standard” in lactation management credentials. They are respected by healthcare professionals world-wide, and function and contribute as members of the maternal-child health team, making appropriate referrals to other health professionals and community support resources. Working together with parents, families, policymakers and society, IBCLCs provide expert breastfeeding and lactation care, and promote changes that support breastfeeding.
